The lack of human resources is a common problem in many health care systems in low and middle income countries.  Low Cost Computer Vision Systems for Automated Lab Testing is a set of projects designed to help labs with limited resources and personnel increase their testing capacity.  It is a set of devices that use computer vision algorithms running on low cost computers such as the Raspberry Pi to process lab samples.  The concept has been tested with water quality samples to test for E coli and coliforms.  Some work has also been done towards automated screening for tuberculosis.  The goal is to develop a system that can be used for automated screening of neglected tropical diseases.
